Reuse South County — Privacy Policy

Reuse South County is a free community reuse service for neighbors in Morgan Hill, San Martin, and Gilroy, California. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

What we collect. When you submit a request or an offer through our web form at reusesouthcounty.org, we collect the information you provide: your name, your contact details (email address and/or mobile phone number, depending on the contact method you choose), and details about the item you are offering or looking for.

How we use it. We use your information only to operate the free reuse service: to match neighbors giving away items with neighbors looking for them, and to notify you when there is a match or a pickup reminder for your own request.

Text messages. If you choose "text" as your contact method, we send SMS messages related only to your own request — a match alert when a neighbor is giving away an item you asked for, and a reminder if you have not confirmed. Message frequency is low and varies with your activity; you will typically receive only a few messages, and only in response to your own submissions. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time; reply HELP for help.

Sharing. We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number or any personal contact information with anyone, for any purpose. Mobile information is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your contact details are used solely to reach you about your own request.

Public listings. Item posts shown publicly on the site include only the item, its description, photo, and general area — never your name, phone number, or email.

Your choices. Reply STOP to any text to stop messages, HELP for help. You may also email hello@reusesouthcounty.org to update or remove your information.
